Discussion:
Wet Disc Brakes

Has any body ever seen this problem. We have a Kalmar DC845 RS5 that keeps losing brake pressure, the brake pump is at its specified pressure and getting red hot it seems to be stalling the oil at the brake charge valve which we have replaced, the pump has also been replaced. Accumulators are upto and holding the gas pressure.

The machine will run perfect sometimes for days then other days will fail within hours

We have the following pressures
174 Bar output at the charge valve
80 bar Gas @ Accumulators
Charging at 142 - 174 Bar over 2 mins +

The aluminum brake/steering manifold for this series machine, suffers from cavitation damage of the manifold at the location of the priority/bypass valve (which allows pump flow to bypass to impliment circuit when steering is not used / brake accumulator is fully charged). The cavitation damage to the block causes oil to leak past this valve, resulting in inability for the brake accumulator charge, hard steering and overall heat problems. The entire block needs to be replaced, but should take care not to use aluminium as will simply fail again in future; typically around 10,000 hours operating time (aluminium is 10 times more prone to cavitation damage than steel).

Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
