Discussion:
Truck codes during steering

When turning the wheel Right or left, truck will code. Not always the same code. I have seen code 202 204 215 216 217. Changed ecr2 and steer motor brushes. Issue still continues, could this be the k5 relay. All codes are for obstruction but there is no obstruction that's visible

which bearing did you replaced? I have found obstruction codes to be bearing on drive unit top , also check for binding around encoder, check encoder spring is not missing...if all checks good look into steering module plug connector...let us know so that we can further help!!

Issue has returned, they do not have a sister truck to test parts with. When steering code 202, 215,216,217 will come up. It's never the same code. Replaced encoder, brushes, and bearing. Any ideas where I went wrong.

Assuming you properly centered / calibrated the feedback encoder when you installed it... Check & clean connections at dist. board and SCM. I have also had a worn cracked tire cause steer fail to respond codes. These trucks are also common for the steer motor coming loose from the steer G/B. If there is ANY slop in the motor mounting I suggest correcting that first. Good Luck!
