Jiangsu is home to a hydrogen development zoneChinese media is reporting a tender for 120 hydrogen-powered forklifts, issued by Peixian Zhongjin Trading Co on June 9, has been awarded to Jiangsu Xinhydrogen Power Technology.
Shanghai Metal Market (SMM) says as well as the forklifts, the tender called for 20 hydrogen-powered sightseeing vehicles including boats and 200 shared bicycles.
The media outlet reports the tender is valued at RMB32.77 million (USD4,574,196.35).
The Peixian Economic and Technological Development Zone, located within Jiangsu Province, is currently developing its hydrogen energy industry and equipment manufacturing industrial base, in line with China’s greater policy of increased adoption of hydrogen fuel cell technology.
The tender for sightseeing and recreational vehicles as well as the forklifts is, SMM reports, a reflection or the area’s strategic intention to extend hydrogen energy across both the industrial and civilian sectors.
“Peixian has accelerated the construction of an integrated ‘production, storage, transportation, and utilization’ industry chain in recent years, leveraging its industrial by-product hydrogen resources and PV hydrogen production potential,” the publication states.
