Cat V60B with Continental - need manual help!!!!

Hello, I have just purchased a Cat V60B Towmotor Lift. It is 6000 pounds lift. Serial number is 87M567. I know very little about it. The engine has been replaced with a newer Continental and so the identification plate is covered with a hand-etched plate that shows no information. The machine is really clean and runs great. The brakes are locked up and the master cylinder seems froze. I am trying to definitively find the year of the machine, the engine (F226, F227 or F245) and where I can get service and parts manuals reasonably priced. Any help would be great. It has a 6 cylinder, dual front tires and side shift (not used and plugged at the "dash" area. Please give me some help, advice or anything. Thank you, Walt

Good day sir, are you still researching your towmotor V60B forklift, in the same boat looking for a manual for one.

I should also add that the engine is a repower which I know is a Continental L head but was just wanting to know if anyone has knowledge of any other identification to help me for sure know the engine. I have a feeling I will pull the pan and check rod bearings because of a slight noise in the engine although it is not too prevalent at idle then starts, then quits again at higher RPMs. I know that F226 and F227 use the same rod bearings except the tab is on the left or right sometimes. The manual for the Engine is available and free online from many generator or welder sites. I just want to make sure it is not another motor and order the wrong parts. I have done that kind of thing before. Thanks again for any help.

I see them but they are pretty expensive if you get the wrong one. I was more interested in just finding out what Continental engine is in the V60B first so I know if the CAT manuals have that in there before I buy it. I am not sure if it is a F226 or F227 or maybe a F244. I don't want to buy the manual if it does not cover the continental since it seems there have been quite a few engine options. Thank you though.
