I am working on a JLG 1930es from 2004. Unit powers up from the ground position of the switch, but nothing happens when switched to the platform position. Power from the switch goes directly to the printed circuit board in the ground control box, when the ground position switch is in the on position a surface mount relay on the board clicks, a red led comes on, and my analyzer powers up. However in the platform position there is no relay activation, no red led, and no analyzer display, due to no power. The pcb supplys power to all systems according to the service information I have found as well as power to the analyzer. Therefore I replaced the pcb and I still have no power in the platform position. Any ideas?

having almost the same problem with a 2005 model, key in ground control position, steady red light on board inside of ground control box and lift goes up and down from ground controls, but key in platform position the red light is on steady for a second then blinks six times, and nothing on the platform control works except the estop. can hear a relay click when either e stop is pushed and reset. Also hear a click when cable is unplugged from platform control.
Thanks for your help, I followed Kevin's advice and went to the JLG Website, after obtaining a wiring schematic I found I had an open 2-4 wire. I cut into the harness at a suspect bend and found the problem. Thanks again.
This platform has MDI or not?.If dosn t have MDI this red led indicates error codes. You must see the number of flashing..
But first , mesure the circuit emergency stop , key contact (up and down) (ground commands and up commands in joystick)selector. When you select "platform " on the key sw , you must have power supply on yelow/red 2-2-1 wire.See also conector on joystick.you must have 24v on red wire in joystick who is conected to Estop.
in order to be of any real help your going to have to provide a serial number for this unit
there are too many serial number breaks in the manuals to determine what system this unit has just based on a model number.
but based on your description if your handset analyser does not power on when you switch to platform control mode then the problem is in the relays or wiring going from the power supply to the controller from the key switch power circuit.
Just make sure the estop on the remote box in the platform is turned on. There might be a possibility that the harness in the sissor assy is damaged too like was mentioned so check this harness very carefully paying attention to where it runs around bends on its path through the sissor assy.
Also check the connector where it plugs into the remote box on the platform.
using a wiring schematic will probably be helpful tracing this out.
Sounds like a issue with possibly a broken wire in the harness up to the platform or in the platform e stop button....you can download the manual with schematics from JLGs website....www. JLG. Com
Look under the resources tab for manuals
