Discussion:
Drive motor

Was wondering if you have to change the whole drive motor because the woodruff key slot is worn on the shaft for the brake disc plate?

As Stam said a good machine shop can fix it for you. You might be further ahead to either send it out to a electric motor rebuilder, Warfield Electric and Glenn Ellectric are two very well know rebuilders for forklift motors. Depending on the condition of the motor they may also have rebuilt exchange motors available as well.

I have seen guys macguyver with tin shims and such.
Any machine shop should be able to repair the keyway if you bring them the armature shaft and new woodruff key. Motor condition dictates if this is cost effective or not.
Good luck.

Every year for Thanksgiving, the President of the United States is given a live domestic turkey by the National Turkey Federation (NTF).
