Discussion:
ERROR CODE 28

So,code is cam shaft out of phase. I researched & ordered cam/crank sensors. I have a service manual on these units. We installed sensors with no success. We have power going to cam sensor. We are now in the process of checking fuses, relays, ignition switch, sensor harness plug connections continuity, ecm plug connections, continuity paths from sensors to ground/power source & signal to ecm pin.

I have read all the reports related to code 28 & others related to the subject of no spark. Does anyone know what the common issue is with this code, because it seems, judging from the reports that no one has found it yet. Lots of unanswered questions in regards to this code.
The truck is down as I write this report. Call me if you know @ 262-677-9925 Jeff.

Agreed.. TVH sensors were are problem also. After spending a lot of time checking everything else, purchase OEM sensor and they work.

Did you try the TVH parts first & they were faulty? Then bought OEM & that solved issue?

We just had the same problem. Went with OEM as opposed to TVH and it solved the issue.

All has been checked. Changed out as a pair bought new from tvh. According to my ohms tests the old sensors check out good. Not sure where to go from hear. Did not check the ohms on the tvh new sensors.

Well we just spent 4 + hours checking power/continuity paths, connections, & everything checks out. So, I don t have a ignition coil pack trigger pulse @ any of the coil packs. Coil packs are powered up,grounds are good. Pulse wire continuity path from ecm to each coil pack are good. Power, ground & continuity paths from the ecm to & from the cam sensor & crank sensors are good. Original cam & crank sensors ohms check out. My question is (2005 year truck) what is the separate small black box mounted under the battery? A Nissan tech said it is a "spark trigger module" & said they have R/R quite a few on them. The OEM parts manual labels it as a "LPG injector driver". Which is it,a ignition controller, a fuel injector controller, or a combination controller?
The ecm isn t available but there is a updated ecm kit? available for a about $1100. I want to R/R that supposed spark trigger mod. but I didn't see any wires on it that were related to spark. I opened it up & no smell & looked good for what ever thats worth.
I frickin tell you this couldn t of happened @ a worse time.
