Discussion:
Intermittent traction loss both directions

Hopefuly someone can help me, I have a PE-4500 AC with an intermittent problem. When traveling in either direction in high speed traction cuts out and message on the display reads return to neutral,Ive replaced pot and f/r switches and still the same, what i noticed though is when powering the machine on and going therough self test the line driver contactor doesnt pull in. But will pull in when requesting lift or traction but like I said start driving hit the high speed switch it gets to a certain speed and displays that msg.

Check for a loose brake cam roller. It has just enough play to close the brake switch but as the lift bounces around the switch opens up.

check the mechanical condition of the handle at the pivoting points ,sometimes parts get worn out like the cam and bearing wich actuates brake switch causing all sorts of trouble... the axle and bushings where the springs are also worns out quickly.

just out the top of my head, could be other things tought
