Discussion:
Hydraulics leaking down

When in use all cylinders leak down. It's a double mast lift and I was wondering if there is a master check valve somewhere in the line thats allowing the cylinders to leak. Even the tilt leaks down. Can't believe they're all leaking internally and not externally.

Need some info on a TCM that leaks down constantly

Install a manual shut off in the hoist cyl's feed line. Open the valve- raise the forks 'bout half way- close the valve & wait & see what it does.

If it still leaks down- hoist cyl issue. No leak down - control valve issue.

The tilt cyl's may be another issue- If one tilt cyl packing is faulty it will let the tilts drift.

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
definatly could be a relief valve problem
could also be a bad spool in main lift section of control valve

also could be packing or safety valve in one of the outer cylinders

since fluid has to go through the outers to get to the freelift cylinder if there is a problem in one of the outer cylinders (usually the first one where fluid enters mast system) it can cause the whole system to drift down.

Maybe a leaky / slightly stuck open pressure relief valve in the system.
