Discussion:
Yale Veracitor / Reverse alarm installation.

I have a 2007 Yale Veracitor GPO50VX gasoline forklift and I am looking to install a reverse alarm on this unit.

I assume that I can tap into the reverse light circuit but I am not sure which wire it is and where would be the best place to tie in. There are no reverse lights on this peticular unit either.

Any ideas?

Hey guys,

It's been a while. Sorry.

Easy install! I purchased the alarm and mounting bracket from my Yale dealer.

Total cost: $86.00 plus tax

Wire harness was already set up in the machine. It was basic plug & play. 15 minute job.

Also, my machine already had what was needed programed in the on-board computer so there was nothing to be added to the computer configuration for this thing to sound off once in reverse.

Very easy.

if i remember from my training you need to tell the vehicle system computer that there is a back up alarm fitted so that the canbus system can turn it on and off.

Hi, do you have solved the problem? We´ve sold about 15 Yale VX-foklifter and all had needed a reverse signal. Pl´contact me, if you need a plan how to wire it. Lutz

Mike,

No s*cking up here!

My plans ARE to use OEM parts. I have talked to my rep (Bill Valietis) at Eastern lift here in So. Jersey about ordering the part(s).

I'm looking to do the install myself and I needed to know what the details would be.

Some of these Yale machines evedently do NOT come with the harness installed and I didn't know that there is a designated mounting place for the alarm. (My older Clarks had no such designated place back in the day).

As for the place the alarm goes, I didn't know there was an area behind the counterweight designated for it. I will take a look and check it out.

As for the wiring, I remember the sales rep (Jim Testermen) stating the same. I agree, I don't need to be voiding the warranty. It's rather elaborate on this machine, especially with the new emissions system components.

Thanks for your help.

You should just s*ck it up, and buy the yale/hyster parts.
There should allready be a pigtail inside the counterweight.
(if you reach in from the back, it's mounted up top, about 8" from the rad)
You'll just need the proper alarm, and the mounting bracket. Then it just plugs in [click]

If you mess with the wiring, you could VOID THE WARRANTY.
