Discussion:
Engine dies after a few seconds on throttle

I've got a GP080VVXNGGE090, w ser. G813V01837F. The machine will start and idle for about 1 minute but as soon as you hit the throttle it will rev for about 3-5 seconds and then die. There are no codes on the dashboard but the check engine light is ON. It's as if something is shutting off the propane at the injectors, if I hold the throttle open a small amount and spray carb cleaner around the throttle blade it will stay running. Anyone ever run into a problem like this?

I would check the oil pressure reading through the sensor. If it stars to fail, the engine will shut off to protect from damage. Also, check the regulator as it has filters internal to the connections. Should they become clogged, will only run for a short period. There is also a drain on the regulator, remove to see how much tar is inside. May need to replace regulator.

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
