Discussion:
Equipement stops while moving

Hey guys,

I have this skyjack model SJ3226. Guys at the shop complained that sometimes they're just going with the equipement and it suddenly stops. No power to anything but that battery needle says it has some power. When you just play around with the joystick, emergency button or key switch, it then comes back and rolls like nothing happened.

I think it could be the connections to the joystick? Or that big connector that comes from the battery into the control box?

To let you guys know, we found the issue on that thing. Bad contact at a small reset breaker on the top of the hydraulic unit cause the equipement to stop/restart from times to times.

Replaced the connector and everything is now perfect. Gotta love those on and off problems.

Thanks for the heads-up Brewski.

Just started working on it, first thing I noticed was that the batteries were dry. Just added a bit of water and plugged it to charge. Will see tomorrow.

Oh and that battery needle isn't working at all. Don't know what the operator say moving there.

Could be about any connection. You will need to narrow the problem down. Start with the batteries. Connect a volt meter to the battery outputs and run the truck. Watch for voltage drops. If that is not it you will need to try to replicate the problem while manually moving each connector. This kind of problem is a pain in the rear.
