Discussion:
Bankruptcy, Consolidation, & other Effects of the Economic Downturn

I am researching the effect of the economic downturn on equipment dealers and trying to get a handle on (1) the number of dealers who have filed for bankruptcy (2) manufacturers who have filed for bankruptcy, and (3) manufacturer consolidation. Would appreciate any help identifying dealers and manufacturers who have taken any of these steps since January 2008. Thanks.

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
