getting the right to work in a foreign country is not exactly straight forward. you need to contact the nearest US consulate or embassy to inquire about the forms and requirements for a work permit type visa
Hi in relation to your post i currently live in the uk, i have be monitoring job vacancies in the florida area for approx 2 years and seriously considering working over in the florida, i have been researching the variations in working procedures and also how i would go about this, i am looking to find out as much information about the differences between the uk system and your working procedures in florida, when contacting my HR dept the information was limited if there is any advice you could give me or put me in contact with someone that could help me that would be massively appreciated!hopefully hear back from you soon, cheers
I was in Florida last week. Heard that BWorld closed Orlando. Is that true?
do you know what locations the layoffs took place. I'm sure Tampa was one.
Things are tight and getting tighter.
More lay offs in the sunshine state by the Hyster dealer on Friday.
we all face the same here
Your dead on andrew j. It has gotten to that point where customers are now expecting everything for free. We are held to meet goals each month but can achieve them due to this mentality. If they dont like the answer you give them they go above you until they get the answer they like or just move on to the next dealer.
I agree with the last poster. Every time you feel a pulse it seems the patient goes back into a coma.Yesterday a customer called and wanted a price on relocating some rack to another warehouse.I arranged for a site inspection and mentioned that I would need to see the new place for offloading the truck and getting in with the forklift."What you need all that equipment? And you'll have to rent it? No it's going to be to expensive! Click....." What did she think I was going to do provide all this for free? That's the kind of mentality in our area.
Some of us got caught up in the mess back then and have not seen any return to bring the industry back to even half of what it once was. Glad to see your still out there BigG. Where have you landed? P
I hear you Nissan33. I just cant believe business is down statewide?? I was trying to get a feel from others in Florida to see if your assumption was correct.
South Fl. does alot of export business which helps them. If G8atorlift works for who I think he works for, he needs to look at mnagement.
Talked to a good friend of mine in south fla, they have 4 locations there, he said business has been going well the last 3 months with new equipment sales & total operations are running in the black.
The only real industry in Florida is housing, think about the majority of the customer base, building materials. Florida has some ports but again the majority moving through it is building materials, there is some distribution business and very little true manufacturing. Not to mention the first and hardest hit areas will be the last to come back. Remember in late 2007 when all of this started our bosses didnt want to hear or believe the economy was falling off because our other areas werent being effected yet.
It seems to be only in Florida. All other locations withing our dealership are on an upswing across the board and even adding people. Why Florida?
Your are correct G8torlift. Begining of the year was ok (ok for today's standards). June slowed down and July is very worse.
How any of us are still alive is amazing.
Good to hear from you BIG G. Thanks for the input.
