Discussion:
Steering problem

Machine worked for 2 months from purchase as an ex-rental. serial no 13779 (2007)
Drive Fwd and Rev stopped working but steer L+R working ok!
Ordered replacement joystick but when fitted (and calibrated properly according to Genie procedure) machine now drives ok Fwd and Rev but no left steer.
Refitted old joystick NO DRIVE but steer works fine L+R.
Spoke to Genie tech support in UK told me they dont support machines over 10 yers old WHAT A CROC!! Any help would be GREAT

did you get this figured out yet?
one of my first questions would be did you get an oem joystick? or an aftermarket?
reason being (from my experience) the aftermarket ones do not work very well and will fail. Always go with OEM parts when dealing with aerial lifts.
second question, does it actually complete the calibration with the replacement joystick? does it beep when completed after full calibration, fwd/rev axis AND the joystick rocker button as well? do hear the beep at the end of the calibration? Also is that part number the same one that is on the old joystick?
After looking up the joystick in genie's smartparts lookup it tells me for your serial number truck the part numbers should have been either 101005GT (OEM replacement) or a 101005HGT (aftermarket). which one did they sell you? even though they offer the aftermarket one i would have gotten the OEM one.
From the pictures they are showing of the difference between the OEM and aftermarket ones the aftermarket one has a pigtail coming out of it and the OEM one does not. Which one did you get?

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
