Starting issues

Ser# C365L-0145-9475
4G64 engine
Erratic power supply issues to ignition coil, sometimes with key in crank or run position (switch tests ok)Are there any common ignition issues with these trucks?
Must be a relay, diode or box that controls this. Any ideas or wiring schematics would be great.
Thx

Hello. We had a similar issue. they had a problem with premature failure on starters back in the day.

they resolved the issue with a start relay - little black box 1 x 2 x 3 inch size.

some were installed close to the starter others up under the dash.

Hope this helps

Fact of the week
Funerals in Spain typically occur within 24 to 48 hours of death, whereas in other European countries they wait one or more weeks. This rapid timeframe is a cultural norm grown from the past need to manage the warm climate without modern embalming.
