Is it side stance? Or do you face forward to drive? 7400 control handles are completely fixable. There is a travel pot, lift pot, and the rest is a circuit card with horn, reach buttons and tilt switch. The handle halves are one part # for both halves. You do not need to replace the handle for a bad switch, or cracked handle half's.
Side stance trucks tend to get broken handles easier. Between my fleet of 75 7400,7500's.....handle repairs are rare. I always fix them them unless there are multiple issues like travel pot and half's are cracked. Then i put a rebuilt one on. They have 6 months warranty. A handle on a 7400 can be repaired cheaper than replacement. But replacement takes only half an hour as no covers need removal and learning is done in minutes. Repair takes an hour or more, depending on the skill of the tech. Some guys just refuse to repair due to lack of knowledge. You have the right to question them and ask for a repair instead of complete replacement. Are you being sold new or Rebuilt?
