Oh my, I have a customer that leased 2 H45D-600-04 units. No one can seem to keep these units on the line for very long. So they called the old salt ( Me ) to see if anything can be done to keep these units running. The first thing I found was there has been minimal maintainance on these units ( oil changes only ). With 5000 plus hours on each unit they were faaling apart. I started to update all the normal wear items such as, the V-Beltssssssssssssss. These units have A/C so I had 2 belts to change. Normally v-belts are quick and easy, except for these. They have A/C compressor, inclosed engine fan and skid plate. To access the v-belts and properly install new belts I removed the radiator covers to access the engine fan, removed the engine fan, removed the alternator to access the crank sheave, removed the A/C compressor to remove and install the A/C compressor belt because the compressor clutch/sheave sets to close to the frame. After the belts were installed I proceded with the other normal maintainance which went pretty smooth in comparison to the v-belt replacment. Now the Linde's breakdown about once every to weeks instead of daily. Any pointers on belt replacment would be helpful. Thanks
