Ayodejisam,

The code is for a failed controller. This could be bad wiring from the controller to the motor or controller is bad. Complete the following checks.

Verify the following:
Check the traction motor to controller power cable connections making sure they are secure.
Verify the cables are not rubbed or chaffed and shorting to the frame, etc.
Check the motor case to terminals for shorts and for shorts between the UVW terminals.
Switch the main controller wire harness connectors around between the two controllers (traction and pump) and cycle the key switch.
If the code remains the same (with the traction circuit) there is still a short somewhere that has not been located in the traction circuit.
If the code changes to the pump circuit, the traction controller is defective and needs to be replaced.

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
