liquid propane enters, is heated by the coolant flowing through the outside chambers and causes the liquid to evaporate into a gas/vapor which is then distributed to the mixer on the engine which regulates the fuel flow allowing the engine to run in a controlled manner.
ie: it turns liquid into a gas/vapor
