With many Companies now looking to produce Hydrogen IC engines, Cummins, Toyota JCB all have either built or plan to build an Hydrogen IC engine. whare will this leave the hyster fuel cell program. Hyster via their company Nuvera have invested heavly in the fuel cell business to the tune of a couple of hundred million dollars. That now looks like this might have to be writen off if you add write off for the over payment of the maximal this might lead to over $250 million write down on Hyster Yale.

Now i know all you suporters of Hyster are going to say i'm just trolling Hyster and yes i can understand your point because you all work for either Hyster or a Hyster dealer so this is not good news for you. But just look at the facts a IC engine running on Hydrogen is a round 0ne third of the cost of a Hydrogen fuel cell so some companies might choose this way.

again i don't think even an IC hydrogen engine will be a very good idea because of a couple of reasons. One being they still need hydrogen tanks at 350Bar for storing the fuel. Two they have to greatly lower the compersion ratio meaning a 4.7L 120Kw engine running on hydrogen would only be 80Kw, Three Hydrogen is very explosive and even a small leak can cuase major issues, as Hydrogen leaks are very hard to detect and hydrogen burns without a flame
