Last week at our training centre a guy came in to do a one day experienced operator refresher course on a counterbalance lift truck.

He passed both the theory & practical tests to a high standard and was issued with a certificate to operate a lift truck.

I have since found out that he was doing a one day refresher course on behalf of someone else who has never ever sat his backside on a truck.

So a guy who is a complete novice is now in possession of a certificate to operate a LT.

Obviously the certificate has been invalidated & the authorities have been made aware of the situation.

Is it now time to include a photo on issued certificates to prevent this from happening in the future?

I have e-mailed RTITB,ITSSAR,AITT & all the other accrediting bodies to suggest this.

We issue a certificate immediatly after a trainee passes and if a photo were to be included, this would prevent a fraudulent act occuring.

Thoughts please.
