Transmission will not shift forward, but will reverse/backup

what type of direction lever is it. On the steer column or finger tip control. FTC switches cab get dirty quite easily. There are some yellow diodes In the wiring loom that make it switch. You can check the switch operation in the dash panel and also check the output from transmission solenoid.
