Thanks for all the good advice, all fixed and working now! Only issues were blown fuse and just 1/2 hr. Ago found some light corrosion on the steer encoder cable plug. Got some contact cleaner and brush on that and the beast rolls where I steer it now, and all checks out. I was able to do the learn steer because the wonderful previous owners never changed either password, 1 for operator and 2 for superword. The regrettable thing was the first day I worked on it, I unplugged and checked a lot of plugs including that one, saw a tiny bit of white powder at base of one prong, and ignored it, but that was the one.

I've been working on these trucks for 20 years it's really not that bad.
You won't be able to run a learn without superword as you know but learning a broken truck won't fix it.
You need to verify the motor is being powered. You can do this by jacking the drive wheel off the floor and with the truck off manually push the drive motor to one end (full lock) and then power the truck on. It will auto center the steering every key cycle. If it doesn't move turn to opposite full lock and try again.
If it moves one way and not the other or does nothing it will narrow down troubleshooting.

Today's festivities will include the "learn steer":procedures outlined in my rough notes from the manual:

Yes 84 just required me to lower Jack I'd used to jack up the vehicle as required for maintenance mode, which I never got into for lack of password.

Jumpered fuse with a 60 amp one, closest avl, ran self-test, now I've got CODE 84. Going to get manual. How fun this is!

Thx for fuse pix, found it and Mr. Fluke says it is open! No wonder I couldn't find it on the %#$@&*('l power panel, it ain't there, is on top of the relays. Gonna jumper it and see if I get a sat self-test.

Power steering working? I'll re-post the status. Machine doesn't pass self-test, so nothing related to machine moving around is operable, including steering. Do you know where the F8 fuse is located, I couldn't find it.

Gave up on FU8, no such animal on the power card!

Continuing the process, I folded the manual to get in the program, then maintenance modes. The system requires either a password or superwrd to get in. I don't have either, and pressing enter with no entry just gives an error message. If Raymond won't give me an access code, looks like I'm screwed as far as fixing it myself.

If power steering is working that fuse is good.

Google images: JJN70 - that's the fuse.

I'm into 2nd hour of searching for FU8 on the power card. Nothing on it looks like any kind of fuse to me. So is it somewhere else, or maybe doesn't look like any kind of fuse I know?

Thanks, S1 and S2 are ok, very low resist. Between when removed. No shorts to frame on either wire. What does FU8 look like, and is it on power card? Can't seem to find it. There's a suspicious, empty white plastic holder strap, unbuckled, that looks to have held something cylindrical about an inch in dia. I see from schematic that TP7 is one of that fuze's connections, I'll look for that one.

Also, "Check the power card and TM's as per the book."

Book I think sends me to test A14. That test has to be done with machine in maintenance mode; we'll try that today. Also the cards in the rear compartment (all cards but one are there) are dusty even though they stay in a steel box. The box isn't airtight so it seems dust gets in the loose cable penetrations easily. I'll put some air on the dust at 30 psi, and blow some on the motor brushes too.

Also make sure the 70 amp fuse (FU8) is good. It feeds power to the TM's.

New York, New York its a heluva town..you know that The Bronx is up..and I'm Brooklyn down
Have you checked the transistor modules behind the power card? The code is an open in the field circuit. Could be bad cable connections on the motor, a power card, a bad TM. First step is make sure your motor circuit is good. Remove the S1 and S2 cables from the power card and test from one to the other and make sure you have very low resistance. Make sure you don't have shorts to frame on them either. Check the power card and TM's as per the book.

Latest: I turned the key on with all covers off, and here's the light display on various cards:

Carriage control card: one steady green light.

Power card: upper-three small lights in line and touching: yellow, yellow, green left to right. Middle: Blinking red light with caption "Steering control." Bottom: Steady green light.

Does this tell you what's wrong?

Some notes I made when reading about Code 26 in the manuals-many points already mentioned in this thread but a couple may be new here. I can't recall a low battery having been mentioned.

Is the $39.95 offering from the "Warehouse IQ" site going to give me the manuals I need to troubleshoot the Easi opc 30tt? I'm asking because in searching for manuals online I found some, such as musiczum, that were fraudulent. The warehouse site's I'd for the Raymond manuals package is: raymond-forklift-repair-manuals-for-series-easi-pdmm/

---

Edit: I bought the 4 manuals package and it seems to be as described in the ad., some 44 mb, zip file. I've already answered some of my questions after having the books for only a couple of hours.

Is it correct to have an empty blind threaded hole about 1" dia. In the aluminum heat sink block? There are two such holes, but only one is occupied by a component. I have a photo but it seems the forum doesn't do photos or links to them.

-----

Edit: Bought the four manuals and a diagram and parts list answered that question. Item 4 is apparently omitted in mine, the single-speed version, but is required in the variable speed one. Item 4 is a diode.
