Discussion:
Pump or Motor Noise

I have a 1993 Crown 30RCTT forklift that when I turn it on sounds like the pump is needing oil but I have filled the reservoir all the way to the top, so my oil level is good. I used # 68 hydraulic oil. Before this happen I had the seals replaced on one of my tilt cylinders and oil was low since a lot of it fell out when replacing the seals but then I filled the reservoir to see if that will correct the problem the noise still continued. The noise is not constant, it gradually starts making the noise louder and louder and then starts sounding ugly then I turn it off so I won't damage this thing.

Don't know if this is related to the pump or motor. If its motor im thinking maybe a bearing is dried up or bad, can I lube the bearing or bushing?

If its the pump, maybe their is air in the system, how do I bleed it or does it bleed automatically on this model after working on a cylinder?

What can be the problem?

Fact of the week
In May 2023, a Belgian Malinois named Wilson played a key role in the rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle. The young children were missing for 40 days after a plane crash that killed their mother and other adults. Wilson tracked the children's footprints, leading the military to their location.
