Discussion:
No response to base controls or joystick

we inherited the lift, dont know much about it. The base controls have never really worked, but the joystick box has been fine.

Parked it 3 weeks ago. Batteries low, so charged this morning and showing over 75%, the usual process. Wanted to move to better spot so unplugged and tried to move. No luck.

Joystick box has no juice, needle on the battery meter doesnt even move. And the base controls have no response either. Unfortunately due to where its parked we cant get battery door open to try little reset button.

So no idea whats going on, and have no access to batteries.

Any ideas?

Thx

until you gain access to the batteries to actually check them out thoroughly your just wasting your time. It sounds to me like the batteries are toast.

Find a way to move the machine, either a forklift or you can unlock the brake manually and get a few guys and push it to a position where you can get access to the battery tray. Steerijng it would be the only problem, there is no way to steer it without hydraulic operation. If you look in the operators manual which should be in the manuals box it shows you how to move the machine, unlock the brakes etc.

When you say it shows 75% i'll assume it's showing that on the charger indicator (not the battery guage). This would be normal if it is trying to still charge the batteries. But since you say the battery guage shows no charge it would be safe to say the batteries are more than likely the problem.

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
