News and Whispers

Is it me or is this forum now being used more for technical matters rather than News and Whispers as it was intended?

Doesn't technical issues have its own place on this site?

Johnr i Good point we are learning nothing by repeating headlines from trade press. Who did shoot J.R. and did William Jefferson Clinton have his CIGARS imported direct from CUBA ?

Well I guess that must be the reason they're pulling down the shutters and driving the Nissan brand in the US as per my previous post!

Atlet doesn't have nearly as large presence of forklifts in the US market as Nissan does.

Nissan will look at way's of getting out of the forklift Business. In North America Nissan are a lot stronger than Atlet so it makes scene to put everything behind the Nissan brand here in Europe
Atlet are quite strong so everything will go behind that brand. Its four or five years down the line ware we will see the major changes. When new product's need developing like a new 6,000kg - 7,000kg Nissan with the new engine reg's coming in at the beginning of 2012 what will Nissan and other manufactures do will they leave this market as the numbers of trucks they sell don't add up to the investment needed in truck design. Junghienrich have set out their stall in warehouse and light counter balance up to 5,000kg if they use the same engine like linde but will the rest follow suit and not develop new big trucks as they see the core market under 5,000kg

Whilst we're on the subject of 'news and wispers' I note with interest the news of a decision by Nissan to close the Atlet branded operation down in the US "within 6 months" as per This Weeks News on this site.

Many have said we will see consolidation of the two brands / operations in each Global region will this mean an end for Nissan as such in the UK as Atlet seem to have the National infrastructure, big accounts and high profile UK recognition whereby Nissan seem to be hanging on to one top dealer and most of the other top dealers have fled to Mitsubishi, Yale and Komatsu. It will be interesting to see if Nissan Forklift follow the Toyota / BT model.

For the most part the posts seem to be in line with the topic headlines. When you deal with humans from countries all over the world some just don't or don't want to read & understand but no big deal.
