Discussion:
Little to no travel and no codes given

Here is the history, e45z-33, s#g108v02144b, lift was originally giving code 51, found controller shorted- had gotten water in it, installed new rebuilt controller ,worked great for about a month, then one day , little to no travel and display locked up it would only give me traction mode 1 and battery level, it would not allow me to change modes, try password or even tell me seat switch present, called rebuilder, they sent out new rebuilt controller, swapped out, test operate lift, display now working properly, gives me everything it is supposed to but still little to no travel, tried changing pot- no difference, called rebuilder again, explained everything, they sent another controller, same thing everything works properly but little to no travel, do you have any ideas? Oh and the password has been changed so I can not access system to see if I need to calibrate pot. I'm at my wits end please help!

If the truck moves slow or in a jerky motion you could have a problem with the encoder bearing in the traction motor or the wiring to the encoder bearing. The tracton motor encoder is part of the rear bearing. The motor must be disassembled to replace it. Block the drive wheels off of the ground. At the motor connector for the encoder wires, wire 33 and 13P should check 12v at the motor with the key on and seat switch closed. Back probe wires 103 and 104 at the motor while very slowly rotating the front wheels. Voltage should alternate between 11 and 0 volts. No voltage change or 11 or 0 all the time would indicate a bad encoder or wiring. These might not be the correct wire numbers.
