Was wondering if you could provide some tips on adjusting the valves (cold) on a Komatsu FG20 / ST-4 with a Nissan 4 cyl. I don't have a manual, but was told both exhaust & intake are.016". Just don't know the firing order and which valve is intake & exhaust.

Andy is right, it will be a 4D95S-1 or -W, we have just done a de- coke on one and it has timing gears.

It is almost certainly a Komatsu Yanmar 4D95S or derivative of, there where several models of this engine used. From memory i think it is gear driven, but i can't be sure.
