For the record have been retired since 2007. Never spent one day or even a half of day working directly and/or as a consultant for/to Hyster/Yale, Nacco or what ever they are called now. But I did and do know people that worked for Hyster/NACCO. Guarantee you we don't talk about zero emission anythings.

1. Allis Chalmers - my first 14 years in the lift truck ball game right out of college - did know the late Sir Neville Bowman Shaw - the self proclaimed side loader king in the UK - aka Neville the Devil and his younger brother Trevor
2. KD Manitou for 2.5 years
3. Mitsubishi in Houston, TX - 12+ years
4. Komatsu Forklfit - Covington, GA - 5+ years
5. Before retirement I worked for an independent Clark dealers for 5 years.
You can take the above info to the bank but..............your first ASSUMPTIONS in the first sentence are definitely off base. Because of this, I didn't read past the first sentence of your rather l rant as you don't even believe what your wrote. See in your very first sentence you started out saying WE (you and that mouse in your pocket I guess) ESTABLISHED (have found solid/strong evidence to back up your Scientific Wild *** Guess or SWAG for short), then when you expanded on your second finding by using the word PROBABLY (which means "maybe yes, maybe no" or is solid information equivalent to "trying to eat a soup sandwich" or it is just "wishee washee").

Well now we have stablished two things first I m some Hyster hating ex-employee who just like to knock Hyster, and second the people like Triumphrider, John J and Stam are probably managers at hyster trying to paper over the cracks in the Hyster business.


We are planning to launch the truck at one of the shows latter this year. How we will do this will be very different to how other companies have done launches in the past.

Now back to Hyster and this post. Hyster very soon will be looking at quite a big write down in its assets. Added to this is the increasing pressure in the very important to Hyster North American Truck market, from 6 ton - 16 ton. This year we have seen the completion of the purchase of HOIST by Toyota and we are now seeing Crown work more closely with Doosan to sell Crown trucks in this range as well.But these are not the two biggest problems Hyster are facing the first is the purchase of maximal in china. Hyster paid including investment 110 million dollars for maximal. Maximal is a company that manufactures around three-week production of Heli per year. The reason why Hyster bought maximal was to have their own range in the very competitive and price sentertive Asian, Eastern Europe and south America markets. The problem is not only the price they paid for Maximal but also, they have been using old Hangcha trucks for their Utilev brand and Hangcha will go after the Hyster dealer network in these areas offering their own product. So Hyster now has not only to make Maximal work but also has to compete with not Only Hancha but also Heli, Heli Junghienrich combination KION with Bialo OM Voltas and Toyota with Tailift. On maximal alone Hyster could be looking at a rite down of around 80 million dollars in a couple of years.

The second and proberbly the biggest problem Hyster has is their Nuvera business. Nuvera has been losing money ever since Hyster bought it. The bet on hydrogen just won't work. Hyster believe the global market will soon move to hydrogen from vans to trucks and forklifts including big trucks. The truth is the global market won't move to hydrogen for a number of reasons firstly the high cost of hydrogen, secondly the fact that you have to freeze hydrogen to - 253c and store it at around 300bar meaning it has to have very expensive storage tanks. Thirdly a 30 ton a day hydrogen plant cost around 150 million dollars to build and a filling station is around 20 million dollars as against a normal filling station at around 1 million dollars. Now we come to the materials handling and forklifts. The only place hydrogen trucks have been sold in any numbers is North America and a very large number of these were sold to both Amazon and Walmart with very high subsidiarise from the Obama Government meaning that with out these subsidiaries hardly any Hydrogen fuel cell trucks would be sold. Who would pay say 250 thousand dollars for five hydrogen fuel cell 3 ton forklifts and around 2 million dollars for the filling station the twice as much for the cost of the fuel.Now when you put this into the bigger truck market the number get even larger.

So now Hyster would face a couple of hundred million dollar write down on Nuvera and 80 Million dollar write down on maximal. How will this effect the Hyster share price

The new Exalt V Zero Emission ammonia hybrid forklift will use a seven modular prince able to produce a revolutionary fully modular forklift that is 100% zero emission. The 10,000 kg forklift will be one of the lightest trucks on the market weighing only 13,360kg this would allow the 70kw engine and 30kwh battery pack to be one of the most fuel-efficient combinations in this class using only 4kg of ammonia per hour.

With load centers of 610mm a length with out forks of only 4,200mm a width of 2,450mm and a turning radius of only 3,940mm the truck will be one of the most drivable trucks on the market. The truck will also be one of the most productive 100% zero emission in the market with a refuel time of around 5 min and a range of 20 hours. It would be capable of lifting at 0.56 M/S and lowering at 0.5 M/S with a travel speed of 30 km/h the new truck will offer similar productivity levels as a diesel powered forklift with out the emissions

the running cost per hour for a 16 ton 600mm L/C truck per hour based on $,
an diesel truck would cost $12.6 per hour to run, an electric truck would cost $ 4.8 per hour to run , an Ammonia truck would cost $4.00 per hour to run , an hydrogen truck would cost $13.6 per hour to run. The electric truck uses lead acid batteries and have a range of only around 4.5 - 5 hours before battery needs changing and there performance is around 60% lower than a diesel truck. Both the Hydrogen and Ammonia Trucks would be 100% zero emission and have the same performance as diesel

The best thing I have taken away from these threads is a phrase some gentleman replied with "all hat no cattle". Being from Toronto I hadn't heard that before and it still makes me chuckle.

You are the one that went on public record on FAC discussion forum an stated the unveiling of your "better than sliced bread' new lift will be unveiled to those to do the big oohs and aahs routine in April of 2019.
You didn't give a firm date, time or place but were 100% certain it would happen - we "believe" in what you say as a man is only as good as their words.
PS: The only TV shows I watched in the late 70's on TV was Johnny Carson ,Saturday Night Live, Monday Night Football (American style) and watch Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer play golf. So if the two guys your are talking about weren't in any of those I have no clue. I like to drink beer & go dancing back then.

Worked in R&D for years, researched many new technolgies which looked fantastic but never made it to the market for many reasons, listened to claims from the companies developing them and when it came to our tests many fell short of their own claims. Of course there were always people like Exalt peddling claims with their own agenda but they never amounted to anything and were easily dispelled using simple science and mathematics.
Now he has put himself in the unenviable position where it is time to prove his claims with actual physical proof. Tick tock, the ball is in his court, only answer remaining is will it make it back over the net??

Will Hangcha go after the Utilev market in Asia, Eastern Europe and South America buy offering the dealers Hangcha trucks and spare parts.

Is hydrogen that cost around 100% more than diesel and 600% more than ammonia to run and over double the price of the equipment. A viable project for the customer in a market that is price driven. Why has Sany done so well in the container handling market. The reason is one thing price

So I know you wont answer these question. Because all you want to do is say when will our info on our truck be released. Why didn't you ask this on the post about the future of forklifts.

Hey I''ll meet you half way in Vicksburg, MS about 1/2 way (from Mineral Wells it is 1/2 way - daughter & grand daughter live there). We can do some gambling there - 4 or 5 casinos to kill some time until the big UAE unveiling adn they have a Whataburger there too. I'll bring enough popcorn for the both of us as you'll need the extra money for the AC bills when the Texas hot season kicks in. But you will need to bring some Texas BBQ, in Georgia they call it BBQ when they get make it from a pigs butt, smoke for 5 to 10 minutes over a couple synthetic mesquite briquets but with real vinegar based sauce. Our dog don't even like it.

During my engineering studies at the university had an instructor once state - that engineering at its very best is still a compromise and the + & - chart will always be the measurement of what was compromised. Think principle this still applies today - 50+ years later.
