Gm LP engine missing and large backfire on startup if fuel tank not shut off

Hyster S50XL

Just started missing bad and will backfire on restart if lp tank valve not shut off.
Thinking a diaphram in the fuel system is leaking fuel into motor when shut off.
Don't know lp systems at all. Any help would be great.

Had a forklift mechanic do a tuneup, plugs, wires ,cap.,rotor. Also set timing. Now runs well.
