Forklift Technicians wanted in New Zealand

Number 8 are looking for several forklift technicians for our well established client who has sold, serviced and leased material-handling equipment throughout Christchurch and Canterbury since 1999.

They have 14 technicians who service huge numbers of pallet trucks, forklifts and order pickers every year for timber yards, supermarkets, cool stores and orchards.

We are looking for:
- Diesel/ petrol mechanics who have experience in servicing forklifts, preferably (but not limited to) battery/ electric.
- Experience in servicing Jungheinrich, TCM or Heli machinery however experience in any leading European materials handling brands is fine.
- Good experience in diesel, petrol, battery and LPG engines plus hydraulics.
- Good customer and diagnostic skills.
- Mechanics comfortable working unsupervised in the field.
- People with fire in the belly who are passionate about their job. We are not interested in sunset mechanics

Remuneration is 14-16/hr with generous allowances, bonuses and a vehicle.

This is a permanent New Zealand role and moving to New Zealand is a big decision so a commitment to the relocation process will be needed from the start. We will assist you with the visa process which includes a full medical and police check.

USD = $19 -20 , Euro = 18-19 , Pounds = 14-15, Aud = $30-33 ,
NZD= $30-35 average forklift technican / Engineer current pay scale in NZ. Good allrounders are paid $40 NZD plus ,these guys are usually work on BIG machinery. but they do expect their pound of flesh out of you. As for sunset mechanics, that is referred to Techs who only want to work office hours 9am to 3pm. Im a kiwi working in Oz on $40 AUD an hr on a 7.6 hr day with over time available after hours and Saturdays if I want. I prefer to hit the beaches on weekends rather than the tools, nice work life balance.
