Discussion:
DuraMatch Transmission Issues

I have a Hyster S155FT with the Dana 3 speed transmission. This thing is having issues when traveling. If you speed up, and let off the throttle normally, it will coast to a stop just fine. However if you happen to "burp" the throttle during deccel it will lock up and jerk to a halt instantly, almost as if the anti-roll back feature is seeing some sort of signal causing it to lock up. Im running out of ideas as to what could be the cause of this, and the local Hyster dealer is no help to me either.

Hey thank for the insane-o-fast response man. Yeah that's kind of what I though. It almost looks as if all the backlash in the drivetrain is backed all the way off. Unfortunately I don't have the option of sending it back being a military contractor although I actually got some ideas while sitting here typing this, so that's a plus.

Thanks for the help - From the frozen north.

Hey; no problem. We determined that there was too much play in the drivetrain for the calibration to take successfully. You must have the brakes locked up (but not the inching pedal) and when it calibrates the driveline shouldnt move. However theres enough slop that it cause the calibration to mis read. So we told the customer (who recently purchased the truck from a used dealer) to send it back immediately. It had some serious internal issues.

First I apologize for dragging up an old thread. I was just wondering Griffman if you had determined the issue. I have a H155FT-AF that is doing the exact same thing. It's driving me nuts.

Yes, Ive gone through the trans calibration half dozen times by now, as well as the 50' TOSS (trans output speed sensor) test. With no change to the symptom.

Have you ran a calibration on the Trans?
