Discussion:
Doosan forklifts

So the company I work for is moving to the Doosan forklifts and would like to know of any problems anyone has had with this make of forklift. I would also like if you would list the pros and cons of this variety.
Thanks in advance

From my experience with the Doosan brand their more trouble then there worth poorly engineered, unreliable and hard to source parts for after a few years of development I cannot recommend them for heavy work loads but for a shop forklift their alright.

Do not want to sound like a broken record Parts, parts ,parts, parts. You can have the biggest piece of junk around , BUT , if you can get the parts you need that will just about offset anything else. Can you say the word BACKORDER!

The engine is a doosan diesel engine, no help there. Luckily we have a local electrical rebuilder that sources hard to find parts for us. The 5k or 6k trucks are pretty easy to work on and seem to be fairly reliable that I have seen. Heard from local dealer the larger units have some computer issues as far as diagnostic equipment is concerned. Again I am not a dealer for them so perhaps someone else can tell a different story.

Jeremie - On the big trucks, I often get the engine make/model/serial number and source starters and other parts like that directly from the engine manufacturer. They're often a little less expensive and more available.

Thanks for the info. We won't be using anything above a 6k. I will make sure to talk to our dealer and get all info for the lifts as they arrive.
We rented one from a company for a few days and believe it was a 3 or 4k. The engine is the same as what's used in a caterpillar. Since we're moving on from cat and toyota I don't see that as a issue yet.

They are cheap, and the support sucks. I am not a dealer for them, but have had nothing but trouble getting parts, or even correct info on these trucks. the 5k lifts are decent, but the larger trucks are terrible. have a customer with a 50k lift, doosan no longer sells a starter for it and it is like 5 years old or newer.
