Dear All Members,

I have some new designs and innovation sketches on lifting and transportation systems (Mechanical and Electrical).

Can you please introduce me to company to build more leads and develop these ideas?

I am a new member on this forum and the majority of the members seems very help full.

All the best in this festive season,

I am not an engineer but I can still have an idea.

My idea is regarding safety. We hear a lot of accidents and one of the popular ones is when trucks are towing a container and the items in the container move to one side I.E the truck with the container flips either to the right or to the left.

My idea is how to control this situation. I cannot prototype it but I can help in by inject my idea and help engineers with my design create this safety feature.

I am sure once invented and start to be used this idea would be very popular in all concerned companies.

If somebody have any good contact which I can start, I would really appreciate.

Nomis,
First look at teh market and see what it needs before designing your products. There is no point designing a widget that either nobody needs or only a few. Manufacturers want to tool up for mass produced profitable products. Get feed back from unbiased people about what you are doing and whether there is a need for this product and how much people would pay for it.

You may want to register your ideas with a patent office before contacting anyone. Some people have been known to "steal" an idea from the inventor - the thief (even reputable companies) makes money & the inventor is left holding and empty bag.
Davelift has given you good solid information and advise on staying positive - I say keep a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) which is much better than PMS (Pretty Mean Secretary).

Hi Nomis

From my own experience it is quite hard to get into a manufacture with a new design , One reason is they have there own designers and tho i'm sure it is not intentional some times these work against you , I would suggest depending what your design is to look for a small manufacture who is in the area were your products are based.

The alternative is to try raise some money your self and set up a small manufacturing side to show that your idea's work. In a way this is better because wants you have some thing they can see look at and try manufactures are more willing to take this on. On the raising money side you must be care full as some people will say they can raise you funds when they can't go with some one with a very good rep. Also don't make one big mistake to think this can be all done in a couple of month or even less than a year from my own experience it take years even up to and over five. But please don't let this put you off because when you finally get there are the stuff before all the hard work all the meetings and all the traveling on a budget to meet people and be told to come back when you is up and running or yes they might be interested and then six months down the line they say well its not really for us and you have spent quite a bit of money on seeing them. there is not better feeling to know that yes you have done it and then watch them as they say well they did it.

I hope you all the best with your new adventure and it will be a adventure you will meet quite a lot of people along the way all will be help full even in way's that you might not think because some times some one saying no or it won't work are things that keep you going when you think should you just give up.

The one thing you should not do is give up no matter how bad it gets keep going and you will be surprised because one day all things will fall into place. I can't say when this will be it might be five month or it might be five years but if you keep going they it will come.
