I have several crown SP320 trucks and i seem to notice a trend of plugging issues with these trucks. Ill get a truck in my shop and the operator states that the truck will not plug usually only from reverse to forward. so the first few times i would just replace the contactors and away they went no further problems. then i started to notice that the same truck would be back 2 months later same problem and i know that there is no issue with the contactors (brand new). so i guess i am looking for any other suggestions on where to look what to check and so on and so forth any help would be great.

If the code only shown in the display and no simptoms or malfunction in the truck, no make any importance, but if you have some malfunctions, this code reffers to fw/rw control traction and the contactor. chek it up these part of the control and the in and out of the signal to the oscilator card
24 is usually direction tips
do a google for ev100 codes and download the list
i had the IGBT im going to have to check them but for some reason i popped a code 24 on it today and cant seem to find it in the manual any help on that one
respect to the radial bearing, i have a real trouble, and i have to question to crown, and he don´t know what happening with my stockpicker, after several revisions and test, i found that the radial bearing was the problem, the armature scratch against the fields in to the traction motor.
but in the respect the Xerox's problem, you have an IGBT or a transistor in the system? if you don´t have a IGBT you must change it. if you have an IGBT check it!! and make a revision in the diodes and the supresors, some times these are bad, and the readings out of the truck check it good.
best regards
the chopper portion of the EV100 control does not 'know' forward from reverse, that logic is contained in the power cables connection to the directional contactors, and the same diode is the plugging diode for both directions.
when you "replace the contacts" are you changing the entire directional contactor assembly or just the tips?
The radial bearing supports the truck to the gear case. If you have someone drive the truck. Watch the armature of the drive motor during a plug. The armature should stay in a straight line during a plug. If not you will have to separate the gear case from the motor and replace the bearing.
i have come across the bearing issue many times and this is nothing like that i think i have replaced the bearing in this truck a few months ago so i know its not that. im going to start looking into the ev100 controle card to see if that produces anything.
I assume that the "radial bearing" is the bearing that supports the entire tractor-drive unit. what he has problem with was the drive unit was "cocking" to one side as he tried to plug.
which one is "the radial bearing"? in my experience, only change the FW/RW microswitchs and adjust the screws, and go like new one..... i appreciate your comments

After changing pots, switches and contactors found that I overlook the radial bearing. Don't know how many hours you have on this machine but you may want to check it
possibly forward switch
they often develop intermittent faults and are cheap to replace
replace both whilst you have it apart
Change contactors again. I know this truck have same issues in that regard
I hasve no fult codes present in the truck i changed the accelerator pot and no change in the truck
check your fault codes and see if you have a few "07"
this is not a latched fault and may be logged without operator noticing. as it clears itself
07 is the direction switch and pot adjustment
Could be worth changing the pot anyway xerox, I don't condone parts changing as a fault finding method normally, but in this case...... what do you think cal?
Also check the motor com, I have had a high current stall burn on one segment that has caused intermittent problems, was more apparent on start up in my case than plugging, but it could be worth a shot. Bobby
ok i tested the accelerator pot and found no issues there. I just wonder why this issue is so intermitent, it just seems really odd.
thanks ill give that a try today and report my findings
