Jungheinrich EFG DF20:
Controller failure

The right drive motor controller caught fire and melted. All the wiring and motor check out and the truck rolls freely doesnt seem to be any brake / drive unit binding. wanted to know if the right controller is the master or slave and what kind of programming would need to be done after controller replacement.
TVH has a controller but we dont know if it comes with the small printed cicuit board, has amyone seen this problem before and any suggestions, the customer ran the truck 3 shifts with an opportunity charge between 2nd and 3rd so we think it may just be high amps over usuage, fuse did not blow etc any help would be appreciated.

For error 39 you need to set truck type & for 81 you'll need to set parameters for both traction controllers cos they're different from each other.

Hey Forkinlift
Ok at this point we have replaced the controller and both encoder bearings you were right the left drive motor bearing failed, we also replace the interface board and wire harness on the recomendation of the local jung tech, he said the new controllers have gone from 5v refrence to 10v.
So at this point we have all the parts in and the truck powers up but we get two codes and it will not run, 1st code is # 39 2nd one is 81.
We have an apointment to have a tech come out and program the truck any info you could pass on would be great.
Cheers mate.

If you are talking about the top PCB on the controller then yes it should come with the base unit.
You may be correct6 in your thinking, though from previous experience I would change the motor encoder bearing as we recently had one of these AC controllers burn out, we fitted a s/ex unit from TVH and it ran for about 4 hours before it failed, it turned out to be the encoder that was blowing the controller, its an expensive lesson to learn!!! new from Jungheinrich they are near to £4000!!
To program these you need a LISA unit and cable as the ones we had from TVH were not pre programmed so we had to set them to the correct truck type.
