Hi
i have same problem in cat DP 25 NT error cadesP03 AND P07 can you help me how to erase these codes.this is new machine i run only 5000 Hrs
At a previous post, our friend Mr. ECUengineer posted about compatibility of NISSAN ECUs.
Does anybody has a cross compatibility list for this? Would appreciate any help.
I would like to find compatible ECU for a Mitsubishi-CAT forklift which have a Nissan motor with ECU 23710GS00A 2NANN (MEC130-000).
Previous post read as follows:
There are some cross compatibilities with NISSAN MEC34 ECU's.
Look at the hardware version of the ECU (ie MEC34, MEC130, and MEC131) and the ECM ID (2NANN, 3NANN, 3NANK, TN3NK, etc.) If you match the Hardware version and ECM-ID in conjunction with the same series of lift(K21 or K25 Engine and C4000/P4000) you probably have yourself a replacement.
Thanks
I have a CAT C3000 and i am getting the codes P3, P4, and P7. So there is no communication at the VCM, ECM, or MP. I am getting the LED Blinking on the back of the VCM, and it was the letter B confirming the codes on the dash. Was the fix a combination of a new ECM and harness? Any help would be appreciated.

You may find that many non-compatible ECU's with same ECM-ID and hardware version will get your truck running but will throw a bunch of codes due to VCM to ECM communications conflicts.
Anyone have experience to the contrary?
Ok so to bring an end to my pain. This truck is fixed the E30 E38 Codes came from a bad Fuel pressure Sensor. It tested fine but once in the truck it was robbing the 5 volt reference signal to the ECM hence the Under powered Ecm E30 Caterpillar Sent down their Top guy and between the 2 of us we finally found it. He said he had never seen this one before were the fuel pressure sensor had cause this to happen
Also on a side note Nissan ecms can be used in place of cat as long as you cross reference the Nissan Part number to the correct cat designator Nissan ecms cost way less
Well everyone thanks for the input on all this found the problem WRONG WIRING harness the harness PN that cat gave me is for a DUAL FUEL truck not a Straight LP so If anyone is looking for a wiring harness for a dual Fuel truck let me know................
Check your EGI 1 and 2 relays and fuses labeled EGI...also in the second relay box ,in the footwell area where the VCM resides is a second relay box, check the relay labeled ignition relay....code E30 pertains to a power feed to the ECM that the ECM isnt seeing...
OK so update,
I found the correct ecm for this truck from a bulletin the cat dealers put out, So I pulled a identical truck out of a good customers pulled their ecm same Nissan build number since that's the only way to tell which one is which put in this truck and the P03 P07 went away now I have e 38 Fuel Pressure switch and e30 Ecm power issue the only thing is install it back in the original truck no codes or I should say no e30 code I know the e-38 is in the fuels system of the other truck
Any hints on why the e30 code ?
P03 - VCM communication error
P07 - MP communication error
having a comm error between meter panel and vcm
have you checked the relay box relays?
what color are they? black or green?
most current updated relays are green.
Ok update,
Finally figured out what ECM Actually goes into this truck now using the correct ECM I am getting P03 P07 hope this will lead us on the right direction and thanks for all the help
could be the dash (that is where 1 of the 'termination resisters" in the can bus is actually installed, so if the dash was wacked out, you would also have no communication between the ecm, vcm and dash due to a can knock out), but as a general rule, when it is the dash, either you get no dash at all, or the trans won't engage but the engine will run.
I would say it was worth trying a known good dash, if you have one.
actually though, if the cat tech did not get any communication at all, it is most likely IS the power to the VCM or the VCM itself, since (also, as I understand it) the cat program communicates through the VCM to 'talk' to the dash or the ECM.
