Discussion:
code e107

we service a fleet of approx 300 8400's of varying years all double jacks with no assigned operators. they are 8,000 lb trucks in good condition used in a mixed environment food warehouse (dry, cooler & freezer)
out of this fleet we have about 25 of them that blow the main power fuse & throw the code E107.
To date we have tried swapping batteries, drive motors, contactors, controllers, & lift pump assy's! We have also swapped drive tires & tried different caster wheel adjustments, along with changing the pallet entry rollers & adjusting the minimum lowered height of the forks.
Nothing has made any difference!! Any thoughts??

thanks for the replies. The factory firmware is the latest & greatest. the contact tips will certainly get a closer look too. Batteries have been an issue (true almost everywhere) They have an in house maint man who waters & checks the batteries. they use the opportunity chargers.
I locked one of the problem trucks to a charger & made sure it got a full equalization charge & it is much better now. I check the batteries myself when we work on them & the specific gravity, volts per cell & amps are typically in the correct range. That being said they are 4 year old batteries & will likely start failing soon.
It just seems odd that with the same trucks & around the same amount of hours (approx 5,000) on all of them that the trouble would limited to just these few.
I will post again after a follow up in 2 weeks
Thanks.

Dirty contacter tips are #1 cause. You can just replace tips only. VM is very fussy about any voltage drop across them. Driver's pushing 2 or more skids are prone to blowing Main fuse. Best to do a voltage drop across fuse as it does degrade and get weak and may cause code. Weak battery is another culprit, along with poorly soldered battery connections.

i believe there has been a number of software updates since this truck's inception. might be a good idea to have the latest versions installed.
