Discussion:
Code 2000-12

Hello fellow techs, Working on this S40FT where I did an engine swap, Issue I have is I have no idea if it ran before it came to the shop, Issues I am currently dealing with is I am not getting any fuel (LPG) as the lockoff will not open, however it is getting 12V to the connector, and if you put 12V directly to it, it will open, but the second you plug it into the lockoff it looses the voltage. I have pinned the wires back to the ECM and they are good. With bypassing the lockoff by putting 12V to it, the fuel is stopping at the EPR. I am also getting a fault code of 2000-12 and I have no means to look it up as my company is not a Hyster dealer. Could any of you give some guidance on this? Much appreciated

Jered,

The code is for CANBUS error. The connection on the side of the steer column is your test port. Check between A and B for ohms, should be about 60. If not, there may be a failed termination resistor or connection. Could also have a failed harness. Verify connectors at the VSM and ECU are in good condition and np loose connections. For the lock off, I have found the negative wire at the ECU to have a spread pin or socket causing a failed connection. The CANBUS wires are the twisted yellow and green. Good Luck.

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
