Discussion:
Clark GCS30 LPG MC--- reverse beeper?

I am going to have our lift safety inspected shortly, and want to fix the obvious. The reverse beeper does not work... as a matter of fact I can not locate one on the machine. We bought this lift used 10 years ago, and no one can recall if there ever was a beeper on it.
Assuming the beeper has been removed. Where can I find the switch to wire a new? I have checked the steering column, removed the floor, and found nothing obvious yet!
Is there a solenoid switch off the trans?

Thanks

Another cheat option if someone just wants a beep, is to install a back up alarm light bulb. You can get them at most auto stores. Saves a lot of digging and money. I was surprised how loud it was when I did it for a customer who had older gas trucks, without a harness. Saved a ton and made their safety guy very happy

if the truck is equipped with brake and reverse lighting tap it off the harness for the rev lights
look for the harness towards the back of the frame going up into the overhead guard

even if it wasnt equipped with those lights some manufacturers have the wires for it in the same spot for a future installation

New York, New York its a heluva town..you know that The Bronx is up..and I'm Brooklyn down
if the truck has f/r solenoids on trans you can connect into the rev one also if you can find the rev clutch pressure test point you can install a pressure switch that will activate the beeper in rev. other than that you could make up some kind of a spring activated switch from the lever when in rev position
