OK... yes there is a slim possibility that the torque converter itself 'might' be damaged in some way that can cause a leak but the most likely suspect is going to be the seal in the pump.

in either case you are going to have to remove the torque converter bolts out of the flex plate and break the engine/transmission apart and pull the engine to get to this to replace the pump seal or even the pump itself, or worse case replace the torque converter. no other way around this procedure.

There is one other 'backyard trick' i learned from a mechanic buddy of mine that works at cocacola that can serve as a temporary fix, get a bottle of 'TransX' transmission treatment fluid made by CRC.
This stuff works wonders and can restore seals back to their original condition by causing them to swell and seal up any gaps left by wear that can cause leaks such as this.

Now i generally don't do these type of 'temp fixes' but its just a suggestion you might want to consider just to get the leak to stop temporarily till you can get to a point where you can actually go in and do the repair correctly.

I have seen weld failure/crack where the torque convertor drive hub is welded to the torque convertor shell. A hairline crack in the weld will exactly mimic a defective or damaged pump seal.
We were actually able to see the crack under a strong light with a magnifying glass, but we did not think of looking for one when we had it down the first time, so it was a "do over" job when we looked for a crack.
After finding the crack we improvised an air hose adapter to apply shop compressed air to the torque convertor through the seal hub. With the torque convertor lying flat on a table, seal hub facing up, we filled the center area around the seal hub with a bit of soapy water. Applying just a small amount of compressed air to the adapter hose with a hand nozzle caused some serious bubbling around the cracked weld.
That torque convertor was in a Toyota 3FGCU25 (if I remember correctly).

Serial 545124
leaking like no tomorrow right at center of engine to tranny,
don't think there is any thing else that can leak unless the pump seal is leaking.
Thanks john
