Discussion:
Caterpillar orderpicker N0R30P fault codes

Hi, first time posting. Can anyone help with this? I use this electric machine (Cat N0R30P) every day, and frequently it gives either code '80' upon startup, or sometimes code '84' during use. Does anyone have a list of codes, or have experience with this? Thank you!

Agree with over the mast cable as stated above, but have also seen Code 80 triggered by bad carriage interface board several times.

Someone should mention that while the pots in these trucks do not last as long as most would like, these same codes can and do result from an internal breakage in the "over the mast" cable that runs from the carriage to the tractor portion.
Based on the symptoms, almost for sure your problem and best solution is to replace the pots then relearn them.

"it's not rocket surgery"
Code 80 and 81 are for throttle pot and lift pot out of range. You can relearn the pots all day, they are out of range and learning does nothing.

Code 80 - The throttle pot analog input was detected below 0.156 volts or
above 4.844 volts.

Code 81 - The lift pot analog input was detected below 0.156 volts or above
4.84 volts.

When the controller see these voltages is when you get the code 80 or 81. Relearn until you are blue in the face, the voltage is out of range.

Thanks to both of you, 7777 and radon.
It's an old lift, and the last time someone from our local equipment co. was out to look at it was 4-5 months ago. He mentioned relearning those, and up until now it's worked "ok". Occasional problems. It has shown slight movement during self test recently, usually reverse, then usually codes out.

7777 is right, 80(accel pot) and 81(lift lower pot) are common faults, sometimes you can relearn drive and lift pot. and it will be good for abit. Alot of times they need to be replaced. Code 84 is a brake code, but also could be a speed pot on top of the drive motor issue. The controller is seeing movement when the drive transistor is being tested during self test.

code 80 - throttle controller analog reading out of range
code 84 - brake misadjusted
