SCLAA's mentoring program starts soon

Applications for the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) 2025 National Mentoring Program - for those interested in being a mentor and those wanting to be mentored - close Sunday, June 22.

“Whether you’re an experienced professional eager to give back, or an emerging talent looking to fast-track your development, this program is your gateway to real-world insights, career-defining relationships, and personalised guidances from leaders who’ve walked the path before you,” SCLAA states.

This year’s National Mentoring Program will run between July and December and is broken into five stages. At the first meeting, the mentor and mentee meet each other and establish what it is they hope to achieve from the program.

The second stage is an opportunity to sit and list the strengths and challenges of the person being mentored before the third stage where career gaols are defined. Next is identifying and understanding industry opportunities and challenges.

The final stage of the program is participants sharing their experiences.

When registering, both mentors and mentees will be asked to provide information which will assist the Mentoring Committee to correctly match them to a mentee/mentor.

The benefits of the program for mentees include one-on-one coaching from an experienced mentor, assistance with ideas and feedback, the opportunity to gain a sharper focus on what is needed to grow their career and increased career networks.

For mentors, the program offers the chance to enhance skills in coaching and modelling, develop leadership skills, build long-term contacts and demonstrate their expertise and knowledge.

More details on the program can be found on SCLAA’s website.
