So from reading this no one seems to think Briggs are a good Company to work for or Deal with?
Thats were Briggs will make their money on service, silly really the customers is always right and if wants his own service guys to look after his trucks then he should be able to because he is paying for that privlage
Forkingabout we have well over 2000 jungheinrichs in out uk fleet and at least that number again from 2 other manufacturers all owned by us. The rule is if they want to sell to us we expect the same package for our own engineers that Jungheinrich etc engineers get so yes we have The same laptop the Jungheinrich engineers have with Judit, steds for our still trucks and BT/Toyota tablets etc. I spoke to somebody I know at nacco and was told they would release the software to us it was an issue with Briggs who saw pound notes when they realised how big out fleet was and all the salesman could go on about was setting up a full maintenance contract for them to maintain them.
Yes I remember, I saw an evolution around 2008 - 2009 where I could offer it but only to some very massive end users who were mainly manager by Key Accounts dept. And even for these customers it was a long process to have hierarchy approval
Seems Jungheinrich have changed there mind, it was only a few years back they lost a customer who had a massive fleet across several sites due to not wanting to train the customers own techs or allow them software access.
Can Briggs give the software to subdealers ? Maybe NACCO is not allowing it when Jungheinrich can make their own decision.
Briggs are a joke. We looked at buying a fleet of counter balance trucks from then. It was like jumping though hoops lol. Then When we got to the question of software and training for our own engineers to maintain them it was a straight no from Briggs. Big order lost for them. Straight to Jungheinrich and got everything we asked for. Briggs are one company who won't get a look in from us again
Apparently HR treated the crew there quite badly. The person informing them of redundancy and putting them into consultation didn't really care as they were finishing that Friday. Also one of the employees had to take legal action to secure their redundancy payment. Absolutely disgraceful !!!
They kept that quiet first I heard of this closure but then again we're getting treated like mushrooms again.
I wonder how many customers this cost effective move will loose ? But then again Briggs never has cared about customer retention. I also wonder how many customers the "half dozen" will take with them ?
It closed on Thursday, the lease expired and they decided it wasn't cost-effective to keep it open.
The half dozen people based there have been made redundant and the workload is being taken over by head office in Cannock.
This is a blow, I've heard they closed their depot in Cardiff. Anybody able to confirm this?
Briggs can probably afford to move into Ireland now they've pulled totally out of Wales !
Been trying to since the barloworld days, but a big mainland contract has a lot of new machinery round the port
Are Briggs moving into Republic of Ireland
