Discussion:
Battery guage not reading right

I'm having a problem where we charge the battery completely and use our lift. But the minute you switch the power off and then on, the battery indicator is red and it will run out of power. But plug it to the charger for one minute then turn it back on and it shows a full battery. We can operate it all day or even two days, as long as we don't switch the power off. Any idea what that could be?

But the problem is that if you charge it 100%, the minute you switch the power off the battery indicator goes down to low battery. But charge it full and don't turn the switch off, it will work for 2 days with no problem. I'm thinking it's something with the panel or computer that makes it think it's low battery, but in reality it's not.

you need to check battery level after shutting off. If the battery drops below rated voltage (36 or 24 volt?) it will show dead. By charging the battery, it temporarily goes high enough to swing the battery guage to full. Most likely you have a bad battery. But check for shorts, to frame and clean battery top to prevent shorting to frame
