Discussion:
Automated Forklifts

automation is becoming more and more commonplace and the trend seems to be that this will only increase.

cars can drive themselves, heavy goods vehicles look like they will be next, some warehouses already have semi and fully automated systems.

how long do you think it will be before forklift training becomes obsolete and the forklift operator/instructor becomes a thing of the past, or a very niche role.

thoughts?

There is always going to be need to service and repair them. Don't worry, anywhere there is any human interaction with the equipment there will be damage and repair.

Fact of the week
A 1904 lecture by scientist Elie Metchnikoff extolled the benefits of consuming yoghurt for halting the "intestinal putrefaction" which he believed causes aging. The press reported yoghurt as a cure for aging and the ensuing popularity is still with us today.
