Hyster S50FT:
Another no-Spark Hyster 07+ Impco Spectrum/mazda 2.2

Hey fellers..
I'm living in **** right now trying to get a customer's truck running again.
Did a mono-troll (sic) to lever conversion..
had the local hyster/yale dealer meet me to re-flash for the this option.

drove it a couple hundred feet back to the maintenance dept. shut it down.. now it won't re-start.

this machine uses the Impco Spectrum System on a Mazda 2.2 with four (4) individual coil-packs.

I have ZERO spark. I've been through the PDM fuses.
have 12v at the coil when the key is in the run position..
crank the engine... no -spark.

I just pulled the cam position sensor("distributor")
if I rotate it by hand with key on (with meter across wires to any of the four coils) I still have 12v to the coil.. but still no spark to my test coil... which is then wired to a NEW plug-wire.. to a new sparkplug.. clamped to a known good ground (I hate testing this way, but it's my only option.

the solenoid into the EPR seems to be working..
I have:
- ZERO codes..
- tested all the wires going to the coils (12)
- tested wires (4) going to the hall effect sensor.
(no shorts or opens. I get 12V when I logically should, can't really test the "trigger" wires from the CAS or Coils )

I really need some help.. my local hyster /yale dealer is no help.. bordering on being *********
(not going into that BS)

Does someone have the manual or portions of it they could e-mail me..

OR
OR
has someone encountered this before and know a solution??
OR
OR
Know the system well enough to tell me what goes on in the ECU or programming that could / would prevent spark??
E.G. a safety circuit like Low-oil-pressure??
(it's like something really minor and stupid.. like that.. )

The Mazda uses the distributor as the cam angle sensor.

Im having the same issue with my Hyster fortis 50. All of a sudden the thing just died, I tested for spark and nothing. I replaced the ecu with a back up and still no spark. Thinking coil packs or Cam Position sensor. Where the **** would the sensor be?
Any help Would Be gratefully appreciated
Thank You
Mike

one more thing. The coils have 12v with key on but the pulse is what fires them. The pulse is usually the ground wire on distributor-less ignition. You should be looking for the pulse. You can check for spark with a handheld spark indicator ( looks like an aluminum pen with a light in the shaft.

always start with the basics. Is the timing belt turning the cam? Not sure where the cam sensor is but if it is off the cam then you need to verify it is getting a pulse. Verify the sensor has all the correct voltages via the book. most likely grd, 5v, and sense voltage. If no codes, then it is mechanical in nature.

there are a whole lot of safety checks including seeing the crankshaft sensor turn over twice before this truck has any spark.
are there any errors on the dashand a model and serial number of the actual truck would be a huge help
