Materials handling parts stalwart TVH Parts Co plans to open a distribution centre in Miami, Florida in September.

Olathe-based TVH purchased a partially completed 68,000 sqft. (6,317 sqm) structure in late 2013 and contracted with Flagler Global Logistics to complete the construction to TVH specifications.

TVH anticipates expanding its practice of one-day ground coverage to locations in the south-east and providing on-site services for local customers.

Once operational, initially with 20-25 employees, the Miami centre will be TVH's 11th site in the Western Hemisphere.

In addition to the Olathe headquarters, other existing TVH locations in the US include Grayslake, Illinois; Mira Loma, California; Duncan, South Carolina; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Shreveport, Louisiana. Other operations in the Americas include Mississauga, Ontario and Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada; Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico; and São Paulo, Brazil.

TVH Parts lists about 165,000 stocking numbers and more than 6.5 million part numbers for use in excess of 90 brands of materials handling vehicles.

TVH Parts Co has about 750 employees and is among 31 subsidiaries of Group Thermote & Vanhalst of Waregem, Belgium.
