The Facebook post that prompted an outcry |
It has to be one of the least desirable forklift jobs in the world, but hospital cleaner Richard Phipps was given a special assignment at Brooklyn Hospital Center because of his past experience.
Phipps has been tasked with moving the bodies of coronavirus victims from the hospital to a refrigerated trailer outside.
"I don't want to be driving this," the one-time forklift driver told the
New York Post.
Phipps says he and his co-workers are "trying to take the utmost care we can" while moving the bodies.
According to the report, the hospital's use of the forklift sparked outrage after a video of it in action was posted on Facebook.
